Colombia Decaf
This decaf uses a custom decaffeination process that utilizes a solvent of ethyl acetate, which can be derived from fermented sugar. The green coffee soaks in the solution of E.A., which bonds to the salts of chlorogenic acid in the coffee and allows for the removal of caffeine. After the coffee is removed, it is steamed at low pressure to remove the E.A. compounds. This results in a fresh cup that retains flavor integrity and little to none caffeine.
